Parliamentary Candidate Douglas Ross

ABOUT DOUGLAS

Douglas is the   Scottish Conservative candidate for Moray for the election on May 5th.  Commenting on being the candidate Douglas said.

“My aim is to be the next Conservative MSP for Moray.  I have lived here all my life and  currently have the privilege of representing part of Moray in the council as Councillor for   Fochabers-Lhanbryde.  The opportunity to represent the entire community at Holyrood is one I relish.”

Douglas was born and brought up on a farm outside Forres attending Alves Primary and   Forres Academy.  With agriculture in his veins Douglas obtained a degree from the Scottish Agricultural College before returning to Moray to work on two dairy farms.

In May 2007, out of a field of nine candidates, Douglas was one of three Councillors elected for the Fochabers-Lhanbryde ward. 
Douglas is a member of many committees within the Council and is also a member and Vice-Chairman of SportMoray.

Away from Council business Douglas continues to take a keen interest in Agriculture and is also a football referee officiating in the Highland and Scottish Football Leagues.
